What to expect on your first visit to Dentist@29 in Northwich
Our team will take your details to enter onto our practice computer system. They will then ask you to complete Confidential Medical and Dental History Forms. This is to provide us with information which may be relevant to your dental treatment. It is not normally necessary for us to have access to your previous dental records, however feel free to bring copies of any recent x-rays or treatment plans. You will then be shown to our waiting lounge from where a member of staff will collect you and take you to meet Dr Young.
At the first visit we feel it is more important to get to know you and establish a good relationship, therefore unless there is any emergency treatment necessary we confine our first visit to discussion of your dental needs and history together with a thorough dental examination together with any necessary x-rays. Dr Young will then explain any findings and discuss with you treatment options and recommendations identified during the examination.
By explaining the options fully, we enable you to make an informed decision about the procedure which is right for you. You will be given a written report and treatment plan, including an estimate of costs. After your treatment is complete we will agree together how often your routine examination and hygienist appointments will be. For most patients this will be every six months. Your dental health and comfort are our primary concern. Please let us know of any conditions requiring special attention or of any changes in your health during treatment. If any problems should arise, at any time, please inform Dr Young or our Practice Manager Jill Young so we may have the opportunity to resolve the matter.
A high degree of professional skill and ability and a consistently good standard of care.
A comprehensive examination, diagnosis and explanation of our findings.
The development of treatment alternatives and an explanation of the costs and benefits of each so you can make an informed decision in selecting the treatment that is most appropriate to your individual requirements.
We will endeavour to keep to time, and whenever this is not possible, inform you of any delay.
We follow and also exceed the very latest cross infection guidelines identified by CQC.
The whole team take part in continuing professional development to ensure that their skills and knowledge is up to date.
As a patient at the Practice, we ask that you attend our appointments promptly, and wherever possible give 48 hours notice of cancellation to avoid a non-attendance charge.
We also ask that you attend regular oral health screenings at the intervals recommended by Dr Young and his team, and care for your teeth using the techniques we have shown you.
