I was sooooo nervous about having my tooth out but I was in great hands and had nothing to worry about. Everything was first class and I left with a smile on my face. I’m a new patient and would most definitely recommend this surgery.

— B. Burton, Chester

I was recommended to Dr Young through my partner. I will keep this as short as I can but please read. I regularly attended my dentist and hygienist for many years, I was told that I had gum disease but never thought anything could be done.

— Tam Sudlow, Winsford

Two years ago, I was a nervous wreck that couldn’t bear to smile. You have given me back my smile and confidence. I can’t thank you enough.

— Kerry Mckay

At Dentist @ 29 we have an experienced hygienist who is dedicated to your gum and dental health.

Melanie Hayes RDH Dip DHE is an experienced dental hygienist and an active member of the Dental Hygienists Association, having practiced for over 25 years. Melanie is very gentle yet extremely thorough, and is highly experienced in gaining the trust and confidence in her patients, especially nervous or phobic patients.

Regular scaling and polishing by Melanie our Hygienist helps to keep your teeth and gums healthy and your teeth whiter and brighter. Scaling your teeth removes the hard tartar which cannot be removed by brushing. Stains from coffee, tea, spicy foods and red wine can be removed with polishing.

At your hygienist appointment, Melanie will help create and maintain a detailed oral health care plan for you to prevent and minimise the daily plaque build-up and will help you to keep your smile clean and healthy.

Air Polisher

Air Polishing is a new hygiene cleaning treatment that uses a mixture of air, jet water and sodium bicarbonate to polish and clean your teeth. The treatment is a natural, not a chemical treatment and therefore, there will be no risk of irritation or chemical burns. Air Polishing is an advanced version of a scale and polish treatment, and is excellent for removing stains. We also use Perio Mate treatment for biofilm removal in periodontal pockets and dental implants using glycine powder.

We recommend that all our patients visit our hygienist at least every 6 months to help maintain a healthy mouth, however many patients prefer to visit us every three months or just before a special occasion. Many of our patients will see Melanie prior to and post dental implant placement with Dr Peter Young.
