Peter Young is widely recognised as an experienced dentist and implant dentist in the UK
He has been providing dental implant treatment for 33 years.
Peter is consulted for second opinions, complex surgical extractions, apicectomies, bone grafts and wisdom tooth extractions.
Peter first qualified in 1981 from Manchester University Dental School and then undertook five years hospital training in oral surgery and prosthodontic dentistry. He has trained in implant dentistry in the United Kingdom, Germany and Sweden.
Peter worked for 10 years at Manchester Dental Hospital in their implant clinic.
He was awarded a PhD based on implant dentistry and bone grafting in the specialty of oral & maxillofacial surgery.
In 2002, Peter was recognised by the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Oral Surgery.
Peter is involved throughout every stage of your treatment and always ensures that patients understand what is involved. Peter and his team take great pride in their strong reputation for their caring approach, excellent cosmetic and long-term results and happy patients.
Peter’s outside interests: include football – fly fishing in the UK and abroad, playing the guitar and cooking.
Jo Layden

Dental Nurse and Receptionist
Originally from a tiny village in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Jo moved to Cheshire in 2009 with her partner, Mark.
Jo first qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2005. She has also worked in child care with a separate career as a Nursery nurse and nanny. Jo has spent the last seven years in Cheshire and has further consolidated her experience in dental nursing at a practice in Knutsford.
When not in work she likes helping out with reading at her son’s school. Jo is also a keen crafter, and makes all of her own greetings cards.
Melanie Hayes

Dental Hygienist
Melanie first qualified in 1991 and is a very experienced dental hygienist having practiced for over 25 years.
Melanie treats patients at Oral Implants every Wednesday. She works for a number of other private, mixed and NHS practices thoughout the North West but her home is very close to our Northwich practice.
Melanie is very gentle yet extremely thorough, and is highly experienced in gaining the trust and confidence in her patients, especially nervous or phobic patients.
Melanie is a member of the Dental Hygienists Association and attends annual Scientific and Regional meetings in order to keep her hygienist skills up to date.
Melanie’s hobbies are gardening and playing golf, football and cycling with her son.
Lauren Davies

Implant Coordinator and Receptionist
Lauren first qualified in 2011 and is an experienced Dental Nurse, Treatment Coordinator and Receptionist.
Lauren started her career as a Receptionist and a trainee Nurse. After qualifying and promotion to the role of nurse, then lead Nurse, Lauren was promoted again to the role of treatment coordinator earlier this year at mydentist in Winsford.
Lauren is excited to join Dr Young and the team at Oral Implants to further develop her learning and skills around implant and oral surgery.
Outside of work Lauren keeps fit by attending the gym and fitness classes. Lauren has two young boys so most weekends are spent as a family with her fiancé at their caravan in St Asaph’s, North Wales.
Each year along with her husband and his family, Lauren helps to organise a charity family fun day to raise money for St Luke’s hospice in Winsford, a charity very close to their hearts.
Leanne Dixon
Dental Nurse
Leanne joined the practice in April 2022, having previously worked in an NHS dentist for 14 years, Leanne qualified as a dental nurse in 2007.
Outside of work Leanne enjoys spending time with her family.
Mr Steve Dunn
Dental Technician
Steve is our main dental technician and is based at his dental laboratory located close to the clinic. He has worked closely with Peter for almost 30 years. Steve has been making bespoke crowns, bridges and implant restorations for twenty years, and as a result has a wealth of experience in this important skilled area of dentistry. For the very best cosmetic results we usually recommend visiting Steve at his dental laboratory. Steve uses the latest digital CAD and shade matching technology to provide the correct match to your surrounding teeth and has plays a major role in our implant successes.
To relax, Steve likes to head out into the countryside on his bike.
Jill Brumby

Practice Manager
Jill first qualified as a dental hygienist at the University Dental Hospital of Manchester in 1989, and she has worked at the practice since 1991.
Jill is our registered Practice Manager, responsible for ensuring the practice regulations, policies, and staff training are up to date, and meet all the requirements for the Care Quality Commission inspections. A member of the British Dental Hygienist Association, Jill regularly attends meetings to ensure her skills are updated and are at the leading edge of developments in dental hygiene.
Outside of work Jill is a keen runner and walker and enjoys cooking
