Oral Specialist – Dr Peter Young

Peter Young is recognised as a leading implant surgeon in the UK.
He has gained a national and international reputation for providing excellent cosmetic dental implant treatment in a friendly professional manner.

Peter qualified in 1981 from Manchester University Dental School and then underwent five years’ hospital training in oral surgery and prosthodontic dentistry. He has undergone training in implant dentistry in the United Kingdom, Germany and Sweden.

Peter worked for 10 years at Manchester Dental Hospital in the implant clinic. Following 6 years’ study, teaching and research into implants and bone grafting, he was awarded his Doctorate (PhD) in Implantology and Bone Grafting, in the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He is one of the very few implant surgeons in the UK with a doctorate in this field. Many dentists in the north west of England refer patients to him at his Cheshire practice for oral surgery and oral implantology. Peter has placed over 4,000 implants in the 23 years he has conducted this treatment. In addition he has performed over 3,000 bone graft procedures.

In 2002, Peter was recognised by the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Oral Surgery.

Peter is also a respected lecturer in this important field of Dentistry throughout the UK and abroad. He currently teaches post graduate dentists in his role as a Senior Lecturer in Oral Implantology and Clinical Tutor for the MSc in Implant Dentistry at UCLAN, University of Central Lancashire, based in Preston.

He has taught many dentists how to carry out implant dentistry.
